KCM Fluency Readiness Assessment for Fractions Foundations (FRA-FF) Example Interview (Bethany and Daniel)
Contributed by Bethany Neel
The KCM Fluency Readiness Assessment for Fractions Foundations (FRA-FF) identifies and assesses selected measurements
and geometry concepts that are foundational to Grade 3 Fractions instruction.
In this video, watch the full administration of FRA-FF (Test 1), along with the teacher’s reflection of what she learned about this student during the assessment. At the end of the video, watch this same student being re-assessed three months later using selected questions from the FRA-FF Test 2.
As you watch Test 1, consider:
- What are you learning about this student?
- How might you score this student? How does your scoring compare to this teacher’s scoring? Teacher’s scoring of Daniel
- What is being assessed by these tasks and why might it be an important foundation for mastering Grade 3 Fractions standards.
- What might be your instructional "next steps"?
As you watch Test 2, consider:
- Why were these tasks selected?
- How has the student’s thinking changed?
- What might be your instructional next steps?
Targeted Standards: KY.1.MD.2, KY.2.MD.2, KY.2.MD.6, KY.2.G.2, KY.2.G.3
