AMTE Standards Summit

Teacher Educators from Kentucky and surrounding states are invited to come and dive deep into the AMTE Standards for Preparing Teachers of Mathematics. Join us for an opportunity to learn about each other’s programs and determine ways we can support each other as we seek to improve our mathematics teacher preparation in ways that reflect the AMTE Standards for Preparing Teachers of Mathematics. We will enjoy conversations about our programs, new strategies, ideas and possibilities for collaborations.
Jenny Bay-Williams will facilitate this two-day summit. Jenny is currently a professor at the University of Louisville. In her past 11 years in Kentucky, she has worked with K-12 teachers and teacher leaders all over Kentucky. She has co-authored many articles and books on teaching mathematics. She has serves as AMTE president and secretary and comes to us with a wealth of knowledge about the AMTE Standards.
- The Summit will run from 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 17 to 3:00 pm Friday, May 18.
- Registration for the summit is $25 and will include membership in KAMTE. To register, email Bethany Noblitt at noblittb@nku.edu.
- Reserve your room at the Holiday Inn Express for the special $99 summit rate. The rate will be honored until April 17, 2018
