AMTE Standards Summit

AMTE Standards Summit
May 16-17, 2019
University of Kentucky
Lexington, KY

Teacher Educators from Kentucky and surrounding states are invited to come and dive deep into the AMTE Standards for Preparing Teachers of Mathematics. Join us for an opportunity to continue the conversations we began last year at the first AMTE Standards Summit.

Newcomers welcome!

At this year's summit, we will briefly revisit the AMTE Standards and the priorities we shared last year, then focus most of our time on developing ideas and strategies to improve our mathematics teacher preparation programs in ways that reflect the AMTE Standards for Preparing Teachers of Mathematics. We will enjoy conversations about our programs, new strategies, ideas and possibilities for collaborations.

Jenny Bay-Williams will facilitate this two-day summit. Jenny is currently a professor at the University of Louisville. In the past several years, she has worked with K-12 teachers and teacher leaders all over Kentucky. She has co-authored many articles and books on teaching mathematics. She has serves as AMTE president and secretary and comes to us with a wealth of knowledge about the AMTE Standards.
