Two-Digit Subtraction: Counting Back and Partial Differences

a Spotlight post Students need a variety of strategies to subtract two-digit numbers. In this video, we explore two approaches students might use to solve subtraction tasks within 100, counting back and partial differences. Using concrete materials, we model how students might count back by tens and ones, or work with groups of tens and groups of ones.
