Linear Measurement: Creating Number Lines

In order for students to understand that a number's location on a number line is determined by its distance
from zero, they need foundational experiences building number lines. In this video, we construct number lines
using different units, both with and without labeling each tickmark. When students have this foundational
knowledge, they can understand the meaning of a tickmark on a number line, the location of a number on a number
line, and reason about relationships between numbers on a number line.
