Adding Fractions with Pattern Blocks
Building conceptual understanding of adding fractions requires students to be able to use a variety of representations and connect
them to symbolic notation, with special consideration of the size of one whole. These fourth-grade students work with pattern blocks
to represent and add fractions, with the size of the whole changing.
