3 Act Task
3-Act Tasks engage students in a mathematical task based in a context. Act 1 allows them to notice and wonder,
Act 2 gives time and space to explore and solve, and Act 3 provides the big reveal. These fifth graders participate
in a three-act task about how many times a student can write their name in one minute, and then extend their learning
to engage in the statistical process with their own data about writing their names.
