Materials
- Books and graphic organizer for the definitions
1. Launching the lesson:
- Review the definitions of the angles. Students write the definitions on the graphic organizer. Ask them to point out each in the room.
2. Developing the lesson:
- Begin by reading Shapes, Shapes, Shapes and find the various angles in each picture. Discuss what characteristics make the angle pointed out an obtuse, or acute, or supplementary, etc. Have the students look through other picture books to practice finding angles in the real world.
3. Closure/Discussion/Elaboration:
- Copy a picture from a clip art nature book and have them trace the angles in colored pencil. Each type of angle is assigned a color.
